J'adore Pariiiiiiii

Hiiiii everyone!!! Missing you all beaucoup. I know you have all been anxiously and patiently awaiting my pari post..... thanks for hanging in there. Just been a hectic week…had my first presentation of the year, got sick and then my parents came (will blog about that next)! And I wanted to make sure I could dedicate enough time to blogging since you all deserve my upmost effort! So HERE IT IS……

First… let me start by saying that trying to put paris into words is next to impossible… well at least for me. But I guess if I had to sum up paris with one word it would be.. MAGICAL. It really really was a city full of so much love, energy, beauty and magic. In 4 days we managed to visit most of Paris’ landmarks like the famous Louvre, the Notra Dame, Sacre Coeur, Montmarte, The Bastille, the Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elysees and of course the one and only Tour Eiffel. We even made it to Paris’ vintage shopping district. Ahhh everything was beautiful.

Just a small funny site note... we also went on a wild goose chase to find Paris’ famous L’aduree (a patisserie with Paris’ finest macaroons). Had to ask 7 different people, and walk up and down quite a few streets before finally getting the right directions. We arrived, waited in an hour line… all for a sweet bite size delicacy. It was declieuse and such a pretty patisserie to see but for those of you who go to paris… I’ll share a little secret. Turns out that L’aduree isn’t the real macaroon gem of paris. … instead, it’s a small place called “Pierre Herme”—so the Parisians say.  Turns out they were right…it was heavenly and definitely our sweet highlight. We did manage to squeeze in quite a bit of partying in the city of lights. We rented a room in someone’s apartment for the weekend-- yes... this means we stayed at a complete strangers house and slept in a pull out couch in his living room. I guess you can say i've been living on the edge lol but he turned out to be a really nice, young, French gentleman. Our first night in pari he took us for drinks….and I had a little too much bubbly ( he he). We also went to Moulin Rouge. We had a fun time but it wasn’t all that I expected. Costumes and the place itself was beautiful but not as burlesque as we thought. We also ran out of time that day from sightseeing and had to rush to get ready so before entering the Moulin Rouge we stopped at “Quick” ( France’s popular fast food joint) with our black heels and red  lips, and mowed on a burger before the show…. CLASSY! We also managed to eat at one of Paris’ Michelin Star restaurants called Les Tabelettes to make up for it!

All in all Paris was amazing. The photos barely do the city justice but at least I can give you all a glimpse of how I spent my weekend. It was rainy most of the time and I didn’t have more than 4 hours of sleep a night but I had a HUGE smile on my face every day. Seeing the Eiffel tower at night and watching it sparkle and shine was probably one of my greatest moments yet. At that moment, standing in front of the Eiffel tower… it finally hit me. I was finally in the city I always dreamed of going, the one that I saw in movies and tv shows… so close but never quite within reach. I was finally there. WOW is really the only way to describe it. I know its a moment i'll never forget!

Ok time for me to stop blabbing… I could just go on and on and on about Paris. Hope you enjoy my photos below… had soo many to choose from. Did my best trying to show you a piece of everything… I’ll leave the rest for when I see you all when i’m back.

Lots and lots of love,
Xo

A glimpse of Lyon...

Bonjour!!!!

Unfortunately I don't have anything that exciting to blog about for the week as I spent most of my weekend in my longjongs, streaming movies and eating popcorn. Yes... i wasted a weekend indoors when I could be exploring Europe but Hey even in France you need a daily dose of RnR. As dull as my weekend was.. it was dull in the most perfect way. I relaxed, caught up on all my lost hours of sleep, and watched my all time favorite "Pretty Woman". We did manage to make it out of the apartment a few hours a day to indulge in some patisseries from our home boulangerie around the corner. We also managed to visit the roman ampitheatre and do some window shopping. I also came across " Le Patinoire Charlemagne" ( an ice- rink) that i've added on my list of things to do here in Lyon.

Overall, this weekend was a very relaxing one. It was the first weekend we spent in Lyon in a while. Now I will be well rested for my next stop... Pariiiiii- where I intend to shop till I drop, walk till I can't feel my feet, eat till I have a food baby, and party till the a.m....... ALL for the city of l-o-v-e.

p.s. thought i'd share some photos of my stay here in Lyon since I didn't have a travel destination this week. I am living here afterall...

Until next time,

Bise xo
